Walt Mueller is the founder and president of The Center for Parent/Youth Understanding. He has over 35 years of experience working with young people and families. Mueller describes youth culture as the “soup within which teenagers live.” Think about that for a second and consider all the voices that are vying for the attention of today’s teenager. So many voices, so many expectations, so many different viewpoints on life. It’s no wonder why this generation of teenagers struggles so much with fear, anxiety, depression, and mental illness.
With that in mind I want you to hear about the miracle that took place this past weekend. Over 200 teenagers and over 7 different churches from across the River Region gathered for our annual AMPLIFY WEEKEND 2023. For over 40 hours of the weekend, students were able to take a break from the everyday voices that nip at them and hear from our Great God. Our main group sessions were led so wonderfully by our worship band and speaker. This team of leaders pointed us to Jesus through song and through the proclamation of The Word. This weekend was a true joy for my heart!
Would you continue to pray for our students here at Eastern Hills and also across the city? Pray that the seed that was sown would take root in the hearts and lives of these teenagers. Pray that we would see the fruit of hearts that have been changed by the gospel.
Thank you is not enough to say for all the ways Eastern Hills helped make AMPLIFY happen this year. We are so appreciative of the many ways you helped—donations, prayer, driving, hosting students. What a blessing the people of our church were to our students this past weekend!
Blessings,
Jeff
