If you are interested in becoming a member at Eastern Hills please contact the church office at cmartin@ehbconline.com or 334-272-0604.
At the conclusion of the message in each worship service, a public invitation is given for anyone who wishes to come forward and express a desire to join the church in one of the ways below. It is often the case that a person who wishes to join has had a previous discussion with one of the pastors about their decision. For those who need baptism, a date is set through the pastor’s office and membership will be discussed along with baptism. |
First Steps Class
The First Steps class is an opportunity to learn more about Eastern Hills—what we believe, our vision of ministry as a church, and how you can get involved with us. The class is also a time to share some things about yourself, all under the guidance of our senior pastor, Josh Wootton. This class is a crucial part of the membership process at Eastern Hills.
Making Membership Official
Church membership is reserved for those who have decided to follow Christ with their lives. If you are interested in becoming a Christian, click here for more information.
If you are a Christ-follower in our area and not a part of a local Bible-believing church, then we invite you to consider joining us at Eastern Hills. If you are interested in officially joining please contact the pastor’s office (see above for contact information) or speak to a pastor after one of our services. We will guide you along the steps to becoming a member at Eastern Hills.
After attending the First Steps class, there are three ways to join the church:
1. Profession of faith — express your desire to follow Christ with your life and be baptized by immersion.
2. Transfer of letter — indicate that you are a member in good standing from another Baptist Church.
3. Statement of faith — indicate your belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and your willingness to follow the Southern Baptist Confession of Faith.
Once you have had an adequate opportunity to learn about Eastern Hills and share your conversion experience with one of the pastors or lay leaders of the church, you are eligible for membership. You will be presented to the congregation by the pastor for affirmation and will be at that time welcomed as a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church! |
