As school is winding down and summer yard sales are gearing up, one thing we don’t want you to sale is your child’s backpack. Leading up to its annual “Bless the Backpacks” event in August, the Women’s Ministry will be collecting backpacks to donate to other area children. If you’re already planning to purchase a new backpack for the next school year, please plan to donate your gently used backpack now. We promise your return on investment will be bigger and better than you would get from adding a green dot price sticker and tossing it in the “for sale” pile.
We’ll also be collecting school supplies and gently used school uniforms. New items are also welcome. And donating couldn’t be easier. Just load them up in your car, and the next time you’re at church, drop them off in one of the collection bins located in the Green Ridge Welcome Center and CLC Lobby. We’ll be collecting donations now through June 15 and then again in the weeks surrounding the “Bless the Backpacks” event. But don’t wait, please take this opportunity to clean out items you no longer want and bless someone else who needs them.
