As you read this week’s Messenger our youth are in Florida ministering through our youth choir mission trip. Many hours of practice have gone into preparing for this trip. Let me encourage you to lift up our youth and adults leaders as they serve and share Christ in Florida. This next Sunday evening we will have the opportunity to share in their ‘Homecoming Concert.’ I hope you will come Sunday evening and support our youth as they share. There will be a fellowship after the concert and we will enjoy some watermelon on the front lawn.
This Summer is passing quickly and as you know is packed with many events and ministry opportunities for our church. Please be in prayer for those who will be traveling during the next weeks. I will be traveling to the Ukraine July 5 – 14 on a mission trip with North Shelby Baptist Church in Birmingham. I will be preaching in Kharkov, Ukraine on Sunday July 5th and will be working with the International Mission Board that week. Please pray for me and the entire team as we share Christ in the city of Kiev and Kharkov.
Summer is a time when many take time to “get away” with their family. It is also, as you see, a time to minister to many areas of our world. As you travel, we pray that you will be safe and when you are in Montgomery, we pray that you will be here at Eastern Hills. I look forward to Sunday as we gather for Bible study and Worship.
